Total Investment of 5.5 Billion! Construction of the Sports and Leisure Town in Weishui, Songzi Is Picking up Speed

The Weishui Sports and Leisure Town in the city of Songzi is going to become a comprehensive scenic spot integrating culture, tourism, leisure, sports, featured food, recreational agriculture, and sightseeing. Currently, the project construction is making smooth progress, and some buildings have been completed.

Upon entering the construction site,we see working excavators and bulldozers shuttling back and forth, and theaction is in full swing. The core area of the Weishui Sports and Leisure Townconsists of four parts: a souvenir street, a restaurant street, a boutiquehotel, and homestay hotels. So far, 80 percent of the whole project has beencompleted, and the construction workers are working hard under the scorching sun to meet the schedule.

According to Huang Rui, the deputy director of the Engineering Department of the Hubei Weishui Investment Development Group Co., Ltd., the project is scheduled to be completed in October 2020, and as of now, 42 of the 48 buildings have been completed, with the remaining six buildings to be completed in October.

As can be seen at the site, the core area of the town is close to completion. Boasting a total investment of about 5.5 billion yuan, the Weishui Sports and Leisure Town will cover a total land area of about five square kilometers upon its completion, and it is going to be developed in multiple phases within 10 years. When all the projects are completed and put into operation, the town's annual business revenue is estimated to be as high as 230 million yuan, and it will offer about 800 jobs.The development of tourism in Weishui will also boost the local tourism in the region, which will promote the rural revitalization and targeted poverty alleviation in Weishui.
